@Lentingful Romario has scored 311 goals, not 1000, because noone counts club friendlies and junior games as that's just pointless because the standards are too low.
He was inconsistent. Overall stats won't show it because sometimes he scored 2-3 goals. He was a brilliant player, but if he didn't feel like playing, then he wouldn't try to. That is why he had so many clubs. Disruptive player with problems, but a genius at the same time. I don't get why you are arguing, these are facts. |

@Lentingful yes but he was also very inconsistent as Robson says, if Romario wasn't up for it, he'd do nothing in a game, and even his teammates saw this. His first season at Barcelona, Romario was motivated (biggest club of his career), but after that he fell back into the Romario of old. Suspect injuries, not training, staying in Brazil and going missing, etc. Yes, other great players were unprofessional, but it didnt show on the pitch. Maradona and Ronaldo were great every game. I´M NOT IN WRONG! If you read my last message I said Robson wasn´t Romario´s coach in Barcelona period... I know that was it at PSV, but, and again, NOT IN BARCELONA PERIOD!

@Lentingful you are wrong. Sir Bobby Robson was Romario's coach at PSV for 2 years. Read his biography, it is called "Farewell, but not Goodbye" - it details what a brilliant player Romario was ("on the same level as Ronaldo") but also what a problem he was. Things like pretending to be injured to avoid jogging for 4 miles, and how his teammates at PSV (though they liked him as a person) often resented him as a professional. Why else do you think Barcelona sold him after one and a bit seasons? |
